Dance Project's Dance Marathon!

Dance Project is excited to announce our first annual Dance Marathon to support the mission and activities of our School at City Arts! This event will be a full-day of dance fun–12 hours of classes, performances, prizes, dance relays, and party time to shake your tail feathers!

Please help us reach our goal of $3,500!

Date: Saturday, April 22

Time: 9am-9pm

Place: In and around the Greensboro Cultural Center. 200 N. Davie St, Greensboro, NC 27401

  • We’ll start in Studio 323 (9-2), move to the South Lawn in LeBauer park (South Lawn) from 2-6pm, and finish up in the Van Dyke Performance Space from 6-9pm!
  • There will be dance relays, performance, dance classes, DJ, music, free dance time, and more!

Our mission at the School at City Arts is to make professional quality dance education accessible to as many people as possible.

Through our on-going classes for children and adults, outreach activities, and other special programs around town, we:

  • Encourage freedom of expression and creativity
  • Promote self-confidence and healthy living
  • Nurture and train future dance artists
  • Provide affordable access to dance through scholarships and outreach programs

This Dance Marathon is a fundraiser to help the School ensure that we may continue to provide these unique and vital opportunities for our community. And we know that you can help us reach our goal!

Our goal is $3,500 for our 2017 Dance Marathon. You can help us reach our goal by:

-Creating a Team! *Click the blue button to the right to create a team!

-Just come and Dance! *Suggested donation of $10 an hour to participate!

  • Create a Team! 
    • A team can consist of one or more participants.
    • The goal for each member of the team is to raise at least $120 ($10 for each hour of the event).
    • You do not have to be a part of Dance Project to be on a team and to participate. Invite your friends and family to participate–the more the merrier!
    • Register your team on our website (click here to register) and you will receive a team tool kit with fundraising tips, postcards to help promote the event, pledge sheets, and more.
    • Each team will get their own page on our website to track the progress of their donations!
    • Each team member will be responsible for tracking their donations made by cash or check!
    • At least one team member should be on the dance floor at all times throughout the day.
    • Any dancer 12 and under must be accompanied by a Parent Representative.

Each team will receive a team tool kit from Lauren Joyner (school@danceproject.org) once they have registered online.

  • You do not have to be a part of a team to participate. Just come dance! There is a suggested donation of $10 an hour to participate.

  • Each team member will be responsible for tracking their donations made by cash or check!
  • At least one team member should be on the dance floor at all times throughout the day.
  • Any dancer 12 and under must be accompanied by a Parent Representative.
  • All donations and tracking sheets are to be turned into Lauren Joyner (school@danceproject.org) by April 24th, no later!
  • All participants must sign a waiver upon dancing or creating a team that will cover liability, photo/video, and that each participant understands the rules and regulations of the event.
