Dance Project Student Performance Companies
We believe that performance helps both the dancers and the audience members grow. Our Student Performance Companies provide students with multiple performance opportunities throughout the year, and train them to learn choreography and adapt to various performance settings. Most of our performances throughout the community are free to the public, providing the magic of dance to all.
-We currently have Junior (ages 7-12), Teen (ages 13-18) and Adult (ages 18+) performance companies.
-Each rehearsal time is for 45 minutes on Tuesday afternoon or evenings each week. *please refer to the Fall schedule for exact times and note that these times will not change for the Spring semester.
-The performance companies do one community service project and 4-6 performances during the entire year.
-The goal of our performance company is to allow our dancers to have performance experience in a non-competitive environment while sharing dance with our community!
There are a few requirements to participate:
-Each Junior and Adult performance company member must take at least 1 technique class to be eligible to participate.
-Each Teen performance company member must take a modern technique class to be eligible to participate.
-Any company members that take two technique classes will take performance company rehearsal time at a discounted rate of $75 for fall semester.
-All adult performance company members are eligible for the student rate class card.
-When you or your dancer registers for Performance company it will be for the Fall and Spring semester.
-The performance company will run all year to allow for proper rehearsal time for Spring performances. This will help to cut back on extra rehearsal time.
-Each participant is required to sign a contract at the beginning of every season agreeing to performance times.
-If performance company members miss more than 4 rehearsal class times or classes they will be asked to sit out of a performance. The only exceptions are extenuating circumstances that will be determined by the School Director.
-Any performance company members will be responsible for any c additional costumes needs, i.e. tights, leotard, etc. Costumes are provided.
We are so excited for our 2016-2017 season! Please email the School Director, Lauren Joyner, if you have any further questions or concerns about our Performance companies.
