Private Lessons
Private lessons are offered in person and virtually. Private lessons are open to all ages. Please contact Magalli@danceproject.org for scheduling and more details.
Virtual Classes
Our schedule allows us to offer in-person studio classes which can also be attended virtually over Zoom if preferred. Contact magalli@danceproject.org if you would like your child to take classes virtually (please allow 48 hours for a response).
Our Covid protocols include, but are not limited to: dancers must self-report any current infection, or possible exposure, and stay home if they are feeling sick. Our Covid protocols are subject to change and the guide doc will be updated as needed.
- You will need a free Zoom account to access the virtual classes. Sign up here: https://zoom.us/
- A few minutes before class, click the link you received via email with the Zoom meeting link for your class.
- Please note: Zoom classes will be locked 5 minutes after the scheduled start time for privacy purposes.
- Make sure your device is set up in a way that your body is as visible as possible, so your teacher can make corrections as necessary.
- Once you’ve joined the meeting, check to make sure your video is turned on. Once you’ve greeted your teacher and class begins, please mute your microphone (lower left corner) so that any background noise on your end doesn’t interfere with class.
- You may need to adjust some of the audio settings, especially if you are taking a tap class.
- Click the arrow next to the microphone icon and select “Audio Settings”
- UNSELECT “automatically adjust microphone settings”
- Open “Advanced” settings and DISABLE both “suppress background noise” and “suppress intermittent background noise.”
- If you have questions for the teacher during class, unmute your microphone so they can hear you. Please use your best class etiquette in this instance.
- Make sure that you have some space to move safely.
- If you are taking ballet try to find a chair, wall, or window sill to work as a ballet barre.
- Don’t forget to wear your dance clothes and appropriate footwear.
- If you are taking tap try to find a hard surface to hear your sounds but make sure that it is not too slippery.
- Your teachers will help to guide you as well as you go along.
- At the end of class, you’ll click “Leave Meeting” in the lower right corner of the screen.
