NCDF Mainstage Performance

October 19th - Van Dyke Performance Space

Love. Loss. Trust. Connection.

This moving collection of five dances by professional choreographers from across NC highlights the very human experiences that bind us together. These dances ask us to consider life’s big questions and how we see the world. At times intense, joyful, meditative, and playful, this curated selection of contemporary dance is the kind of experience that sinks in and stays with you, long after the curtain closes.

Ashleyliane Dance Company, directed by Charlotte’s Ashley Tate, presents “Shirk,” a dream-like, ever-shifting group work full of  love and longing.

Raleigh’s Black Box Dance Theatre brings their powerful storytelling to “Thirst,” a captivating performance bringing strong dancing and emotional intensity to the stage.

“The Shift Project” by Charlotte company Sarah Council Dance Projects merges innovative movement with striking imagery and poetry in a thoughtful and stirring look at how our shifting perspective shapes what we see.

KT Dance Collective by Kristin Taylor Duncan from Durham shares “the light beyond the forest” a dynamic and rhythmic quartet that reveals relationships and connection as the dancers move through space.

Hillsborough choreographer Renay Aumiller will set a dance on Dance Project’s Rise Pre-Professional Student Performance Company, nurturing the next generation of professional dancers and showcasing the talent of these dedicated student dancers.
