Festival of Lights/Parade Followup
- Thank you all who came out to the Festival of Lights and Holiday Parade this past weekend!

Winter Showcase (12.12-12.17)
- Please join us for our informal Winter Showcase during the last week of classes December 12-17!
- What to expect: Join your dancer during their regular class time the week of December 12-17. Feel free to invite friends and family as well! You will be invited by your dancer’s teacher to join class within the last 15 minutes of class time in-studio.
- Expect to watch some of what the students have been learning, and some classes may even share a short special performance created for the showcase. In some classes, family members and siblings may be invited to participate in parts of class!
- After class, be sure to visit the 3rd floor landing outside of Studio 323 to:

- Purchase Dance Project merchandise (makes great holiday gifts!)
- Enjoy a cookie with your dancer

Giving Tuesday/One Step Closer
- Our annual end of year fundraiser launches on Giving Tuesday Nov. 29 & runs thru December

- Spring semester will run 1.9-6.3
- Parents get a head start on next semester’s registration starting today!
- Register and make and pay in full before the Fall is done and waive 2 fees! ($10 reg. & $15 showcase)

Class Placements
- Placements help parents register their students for the correct technique level in their age groups
- Please check your email for your dancer’s class placement for Spring 2023!

The North Carolina Dance Festival (NCDF)
- NCDF Artist in Residence Showing Jan 21, 7pm | Studio 323 | Save the Date!
- Join our “Embark” Artists in Residence Rae Cozart and Caitlyn Schrader, along with other 2022 Artists in Residence, as they share what they have been working on since July! This free informal showing features dance film and live performance and an opportunity to ask questions and discuss dance with the choreographers.
- The NC Dance Festival, a production of the Dance Project, is an annual touring showcase of modern and contemporary choreography by NC artists. The Festival establishes a network of venues for professional regional choreography and performance, expanding accessibility of dance throughout the state while raising the profile of North Carolina’s own artists.

Important Youth Payment Information
- Fall classes can be paid in full or in 4 installments
- Installment schedule: 8/29, 10/1, 11/1, 12/1
- Autopay will run on 9/1, 10/3, 11/1, 12/1
- Late account communication:
- Late fees are added after the 10th of the month
- Notification of late payment will be sent on the 11th via email

- Any student with an account unpaid by the 20th will be unable to participate
*Card payments are made in the class portal and incur a 3% surcharge. This goes to the processing company and not to DP
Greensboro Cultural Center
- All Dance Project classes, unless otherwise noted, occur on the 3rd floor of the Greensboro Cultural Center 200 N Davie St, Greensboro, NC 27401
- All Dance Project classes, office space, check-in areas, and events will require a mask. This includes students, staff, parents, and audience members.
- Thank you so much for your support in helping keep your Dance Project family and our community safe. We will continue to monitor the community trends and keep you updated as to if/when our class requirements may change.

Parking
- Parking is recommended in the Church St Parking Deck. First hour free. You can validate your parking at the Greensboro Central Library. Parking is free if leaving after 7pm on weekdays, free on weekends. Otherwise, $1/hr.
- During Tanger Center events, the Church Street parking deck will be shared.
- Anyone displaying the attached voucher in either print or digital form will be exempted from the posted fee. This voucher is valid only at the Church Street Parking Deck after 5pm Monday-Friday, and anytime on the weekend. Voucher Here
- Visitors who do not have the voucher, but who indicate to the attendant upon entry that their visit is for something other than attendance at a Tanger Center event, will have the $10 fee waived.
- These waivers apply only to the $10 Special Event fee being implemented before Tanger Center events

What is Performance Company?
- Performance Companies are an opportunity for you/your dancer to learn and perform choreography in the community for the Fall 2022-Spring 2023 year, and participate in many other fun and exciting dance events and workshops! Dancers enroll in a weekly class which serves as their rehearsal time each week.
- Who can join?
- Mini Performance Company (5-7), Junior Performance Company (8-12), Teen Performance Company (13-18), and Adult Performance Company (18+) are open to all!
- No audition required. Dancers are required to be enrolled in at least 1 dance technique class in addition to any PC class.
- Rise Pre-Professional Company is audition/invitation only for advanced dancers and requires enrollment in at least 2 dance technique classes in addition to Rise PC.
- Mini Performance Company (5-7) and Adult Performance Company (18+) seeking additional dancers for Spring 2023 semester! All other Performance Companies will open back up in Fall 2023.
- Mini Performance Company (5-7), Junior Performance Company (8-12), Teen Performance Company (13-18), and Adult Performance Company (18+) are open to all!

- Winter Showcase
- Dancers will have final performance in informal Winter Showcase during l;ast 15 minutes of regular class time in-studio. Please invite family and friends to support!

Reminders for TPC & JPC:
- TPC Summer 2022 Guest Piece
- Costume: black costume items from home
- Film date TBA
- TPC Guest piece will be submitted to adjudication to be performed UNCSA Festival of NC Dance. If accepted, attendance at UNCSA Festival will be mandatory for 6 TPC summer guest piece dancers.
- UNCSA Festival of NC Dance
- Dance Project will attend Charlotte Dance Festival in place of UNCSA Festival in 2023. Please see details below.
- Charlotte Dance Festival Youth Gala
- March 11-12, 2023 in Charlotte, NC
- Classes on March 11th from 1:30pm – 7:00pm, March 12th from 12:30pm – 5:00pm
- Youth Gala Performance on March 12th from 6:00pm – 7:00pm
- Dancer Fee: $90 per dancer (UNCSA fee: $200)
- Student Participation Fee includes:
- 4 classes over 2 days
- 2 lunches
- 1 T-shirt
- 1 ticket to the CDF Gala (professional performance)
- The $90 fee does not include tickets for parents to the CDF Gala or the Youth Gala. Performing students must participate in all classes (same policy as UNCSA).
- TPC Guest Piece will be submitted for adjudication (potential to perform in Charlotte on these dates!)

- NYCDA Workshop
- March 31-April 2, 2023 in Greenville, NC
- Weekend dance workshop
- Optional, highly encouraged for all JPC & TPC dancers.
- Registration is $290/dancer. DP will register as a group in Fall. Deadline to pay on class portal: past due!
- DP has now registered as a group!

Adult Performance Company
*Adult Performance Company is on pause for the Fall 2022 semester and will return for the Spring 2023 semester, beginning in January.*
- What is Adult Performance Company?
- Dance Project’s Adult Performance Company (18+) is an opportunity for adult dancers to learn, create, and perform choreography in the community, and participate in many other opportunities, such as attending dance events and workshops! Dancers enroll in a weekly class which serves as their rehearsal time and work with a choreographer for the year. Adult Performance Company is open to all! No audition is required. Dancers are required to take at least 1 weekly dance technique class in addition to APC rehearsal time, in any dance style.
- Choreographer Carrie Plew will lead APC for Spring 2023.
