Youth Student Reminders

Winter Showing *this upcoming week!

  • 12.11-12.16: Last Week of Fall Classes & informal Winter Showing!
  • Like Parent Observation Week, students can invite family/friends to join them during their regular class time to share what they have learned or to even participate with them in class!
  • Teachers will invite any guests into the studio within the first few minutes of class to join for the remainder of class time for their class festivities. 
  • DP Merch on Sale: Monday-Thursday 5-7pm, Saturday 9:30am-11am (outside of Studio 323) *new magnets releasing!* 

25 Scholarships Campaign

  • We believe strongly that dance should be accessible to everybody, and our scholarship fund helps make that possible.
  • We’re aiming to fund 25 scholarships ($200 each) by December 31! Each time another scholarship is funded, one of the dancers on the Studio 323 windows turns gold; help us turn all the dancers gold and fill the studio with dancers!

New Registration Software

  • DanceStudio-Pro (DSP) our new registration software has launched! 
  • Please do not create a new Dance Project DSP account, you already have an existing account that just needs set up:
  1. Look for an email from DSP titled “Dance Project Parent Portal Login”
  2. Click the login link 
  3. Use the credentials provided to sign in and create a new password
  4. Edit any account details and you’re all set to register for Youth Classes/Youth Trials OR purchase Adult Drop Ins or Class Passes!

Festival of Lights & Holiday Parade Followup

  • Thank you so much to everyone who was involved in the Festival of Lights Performance Co. showing and the Greensboro Holiday Parade! We appreciate you so much for your involvement and support and we are so proud of our dancers! 🧡

Performance Company Reminders

Reminders for ALL Performance Co. (MPC, JP,C, TPC, APC, Rise): 

  • Please review Performance Co. 23-24 Contracts: here
  • NUVO Dance Convention (Optional, highly encouraged TPC/JPC)
    • *DP HAS REGISTERED AS A GROUP FOR NUVO- 4 Teens & 1 Junior*
    • January 26th-28th 2023 in Atlanta, GA
    • Dance convention where our Rise, TPC, and select JPC dancers can take classes over a weekend from professional artists in various styles (jazz, ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, musical theatre, ballroom, tap, improv, & more). Ages 11+. $345 per dancer early fee. Classes typically run from 7:30am-4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
    • Reserve a hotel room as soon as possible because they will book up.

Parkinson’s Dance Class Finishes this Week & Returns in Spring!

  • Fall Session: October 3 – December 12 *10 Weeks* Tuesdays 9:30am – 10:30am 
  • Spring Session: Feb. 6-May 21, *15 Weeks* Tuesdays 10:00am-11:00am

*No Class May 26- Spring Break*

  • Where: Van Dyke Performance Space, 1st Floor of Greensboro Cultural Center in Downtown (200 N. Davie St., Greensboro, NC 27401)
  • Who: People of any age or ability, with or without Parkinson’s (family members, loved ones, & caretakers invited!)
  • About this Class: Dance Project’s free program allows individuals with Parkinson’s or limited mobility to use dance as therapy. This class incorporates physical exercise, cognitive tasks, sensory experience, emotional expression, and social interaction. As a multidimensional activity, dance has the potential to address many of the challenges faced by persons with Parkinson’s or limited mobility. Instructor: Davida Reid.
