Buddy Week

  • Fall classes began Sept. 5 & Buddy Week runs Sept. 18-23
  • All dancers (new & returning) may bring a friend to dance with them in any of their dance classes for free!
    • Youth: Youth may bring a buddy to any class they are registered for. All youth buddies must fill out the trial form on our website here
    • Adults: Adults may bring a buddy to any class they have purchased a class pass/ticket for and their friend may take class for free. Adult buddies may sign in upon arrival (paper form at door), no online form necessary.

Fall Registration Still Open- Save your spot now!

  • Classes for ages 18 months-18+! Check out our schedule and register here. Fall runs Sept. 5-Dec. 16
  • Double Up for 10% off Deal: Students 12 & under who sign up for 2 classes from now-Sept. 22 *last chance! get 10% off the full semester price of the 2nd class (of equal or lesser value).

National Dance Day (9.16)

Fall Scholarships have now closed!

  • Applications are processed on a rolling basis, first come first serve while funds remain.

The North Carolina Dance Festival (NCDF)

  • NC Dance Festival is pleased to announce dates and artists for our Fall 2023 performance events!
    • 9.27-9.30 WIDEMAN DAVIS DANCE IN RESIDENCE (Greensboro)
      • Nationally-celebrated Wideman Davis Dance will hold workshops and a public film screening plus conversation around their dance film “We Dance” with themes of memory, family, legacy, and tradition. 
      • SPECIAL EVENTS:
        • Sept. 28: Dance Technique Class 6-7:30pm, Greensboro Cultural Center Studio 323 Ages 13+, Intermediate/advanced Tickets here
        • Sept. 29: Artist Workshop 6:30-8pm. Tickets: $20 Professional artists in all disciplines are invited to explore how their art practices connects to community, what they believe, and what type of contribution they want to make in the world. Tickets here
        • Sept. 30: Film Screening + Conversation 4-5:30pm, Greensboro Cultural Center, African American Atelier Gallery Tickets: $10 students/$15 general Tickets here
  • 10.6-10.7 NCDF at GOODYEAR ARTS (Charlotte)
    • Featuring professional NC choreographers: Joy Davis & Eric Mullis, Lee Edwards, Courtney White & Carol Finley,  and ShaLeigh Dance Works
  • 10.27 FREE PERFORMANCE FOR SCHOOL GROUPS (VDPS, Greensboro)
    • Renay Aumiller, Gerri Houlihan, Mandi Moore, and Seema Viswanath will present a performance and Q&A for school groups.
  • 11.11 CREATIVE COLLABORATION EXCHANGE (The Artist Bloc, Greensboro)
    • James Daniels, Damien Mathis, Seema Viswanath, and Anna Williams collaborate for 1 day in mixed art forms, culminating in a performance. Co-presented with TAB Arts Center.
  • What is NCDF? The NC Dance Festival, a production of the Dance Project, is an annual touring showcase of modern and contemporary choreography by NC artists. The Festival establishes a network of venues for professional regional choreography and performance, expanding accessibility of dance throughout the state while raising the profile of North Carolina’s own artists.

Fall Payment Schedule & Information

● We accept Cash, Check, or Credit Card payments for youth tuition.

○ Credit card payments are made in the class portal and incur a 3% surcharge 

● Any payments made after the 10th will incur a $10 late fee 

● Any student with an account unpaid by the 20th will be unable to participate 

● Initial class payments are due by the first class on 9/5 

● Fall classes can be paid in full or in 4 installments 

○ Installment schedule: 9/5, 10/1, 11/1, 12/1

● Autopay will run on 9/5, 10/2, 11/6, 12/1

○ Autopay participants who register after a draft date will need to manually pay before the 10th of the month to avoid a late fee 

● We do not pro-rate tuition. Students do have the option to make up a class in a comparable class. If you need to make up a class please contact Magalli magalli@danceproject.org 

● Parents are fiscally responsible for the cost of the full semester after 3 classes have been attended, regardless of attendance from that point on

Greensboro Cultural Center

  • All Dance Project classes, unless otherwise noted, occur on the 3rd floor of the Greensboro Cultural Center (200 N Davie St, Greensboro, NC 27401)
  • We currently make use of Studios 323, 305, and 317. Please note on our class schedule which studio your dancer’s class/camp occurs in. 
  • Our office is located in Suite 321. Please visit us in office or call/email magalli@danceproject.org (336)370-6776 to set up a time to meet, ask questions, or make a cash/check payment. Please note office staff hours may vary. 

Parking

  • Parking is recommended in the Church St Parking Deck. First hour free. You can validate your parking at the Greensboro Central Library. Parking is free if leaving after 7pm on weekdays, free on weekends. Otherwise, $1/hr.
  • During Tanger Center events, the Church Street parking deck is shared with Tanger patrons.
    • Anyone displaying the attached voucher in either print or digital form will be exempted from the posted Tanger Center parking fee. This voucher is valid only at the Church Street Parking Deck after 5pm Monday-Friday, and anytime on the weekend. Voucher Here 
    • Visitors who do not have the voucher, but who indicate to the attendant upon entry that their visit is for something other than attendance at a Tanger Center event, will have the $10 fee waived.
    • These waivers apply only to the $10 Special Event fee being implemented before Tanger Center events

Fall 2023 Multi-Class Passes Still Available & Single Class TIckets Still on Sale!

  • Fall Semester runs 9.5-12.16 (14 weeks)
    • Drop In Rate: $15
    • Fall Semester “All-in” Class Pass:  $195
      • Get 1 class all 14 weeks of the Fall for a discounted rate. Master classes excluded. (Available for purchase until October 2)
    • 10 Class Pass: $135
      • Any 10 classes of your choosing, expires after session ends. Master classes excluded.
    • UNLIMITED ALL Class Pass: $300
      • Unlimited classes of your choosing all 14 weeks of the Fall semester. Master classes excluded.
    • New Student “30 Day Unlimited” Pass: $50
      • Available for use for 30 days from purchase date for new Dance Project students. Master classes excluded.  (Available for purchase 9/5-10/4) 
    • Adult Performance Company (APC): $120 OR included in UNLIMITED ALL Class Pass
      • 14 weeks of rehearsals and performance opportunities. Register via Class Portal- pay in full or install. No audition required, please contact magalli@danceproject.org for further details.

  • If you have any questions in regards to level/class placement or specific class recommendations, please reach out to magalli@danceproject.org
  • Dance Project does not accept cash, check or credit card payments in office for drop in class tickets/class pass purchases.
  • Class Tickets/Class Passes must be purchased online via Eventbrite and require manual card entry. If you have any trouble purchasing a class ticket online, Dance Project Staff are happy to walk you through this process to purchase your ticket/pass online in office or on the phone. 
  • *An exception is only made for Adult Scholarships and Professional Practice Program scholarship recipients, who may pay in office via cash or check, or online via a class portal account here.*

Waiver

  • Please be sure to fill out the waiver attached to your ticket/pass receipt before your first class with Dance Project, or you may be asked to fill out a paper copy of our waiver before class. A waiver is required for participation in classes at Dance Project.

Class Highlights

Adult Performance Company 

  • What is Adult Performance Company? 
    • Dance Project’s Adult Performance Company (18+) is an opportunity for adult dancers to learn, create, and perform choreography in the community, and participate in many other opportunities, such as attending dance events and workshops! Dancers meet for a weekly class which serves as their rehearsal time and work with a choreographer for the year. Adult Performance Company is open to all!  No audition is required. Dancers are required to take at least 1 weekly dance technique class in addition to APC rehearsal time, in any dance style. Performance Company is only offered in Fall & Spring.

Performance Company Reminders

  • What is Performance Company? Performance Companies are an opportunity for you/your dancer to learn and perform choreography in the community for the Fall 2023-Spring 2024 year, and participate in many other fun and exciting dance events and workshops! Dancers enroll in a weekly class which serves as their rehearsal time each week + 1 other technique class in any style.
  • Who can join?
    • Mini Performance Company (5-7), Junior Performance Company (8-12), Teen Performance Company (13-18), and Adult Performance Company (18+) are open to all!
      • No audition required. Dancers are required to be enrolled in at least 1 dance technique class in addition to any Performance Co. rehearsal time. Rise Pre-Professional Company is audition/invitation only for advanced dancers and requires enrollment in at least 2 dance technique classes in addition to Rise rehearsal time. 
    • Contract acceptance and rehearsal/performance commitment is required for participation in any Performance Co. group. 
  • When will Performance Companies rehearse Fall 2023-Spring 2024? 
    • This upcoming season’s rehearsal times are the following: MPC Tuesdays 4:00-4:45pm, JPC Wednesdays 5:00-6:00pm, TPC Tuesdays 7:30-8:30pm, Rise Thursdays 7:30-8:30pm, APC Thursdays 7:45-9:00pm. Full schedule here

Teen Performance Co. Reminders:

  • Teen Performance Co. Summer 2023 Guest Piece- with Choreographer Bre Forbes!
    • If you missed this piece in August, please let us know ASAP if you would like the opportunity to be included, as an additional rehearsal time is Tuesday September 19th 7:30-8:30pm. Cost is $40 per dancer for guest piece.
    • Bre Forbes, former NCDF artist and current Dance Project board member is this year’s Teen Performance Co. guest artist! 
    • Bre will set a hip-hop influenced piece of choreography that is open to all new and returning TPC dancers to join. This piece will be performed throughout the 2023-2024 season and requires commitment to the full performance company year. 

Rise Reminders:

  • Rise Pre-Professional Performance Company Audition results will be shared by the end of the day Monday, September 18th!
